Where are you located? Do you travel?
I am based in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, Staffordshire and cover weddings across the Staffs area and Cheshire. Although the prices are based on weddings in these locations I will consider wedding venues in other parts of the UK and abroad and would be happy to give you a quote. I like to visit wedding venues prior to your wedding day, however it may not be possible to pre visit further afield locations. If this is the case then I’ll always arrive early on your wedding day to have a good look around.
What is your photographic style?
I would say my style is a mix between modern, artistic, and the traditional. I love capturing the candid moments that naturally unfold throughout the day whilst using still life techniques to ensure all the finer details have been captured. Using a variety of styles enables me to provide you with beautiful images and tell the story of your day. You will find me wandering around looking for those moments that cannot be recreated as I think that unplanned and caught in the moment shots give you something that will last forever. Those important shots of key members of family and friends can be taken during the day at your leisure.
What are your rates?
I offer wedding coverage beginning at £595 and rising to just over the £1500 mark. If you would like specific information on what I offer, please click “Contact” from the options above to send me an email.
Are your wedding packages adjustable?
Yes. I do offer a “build-your-own” wedding photography package starting with a minimum of 6 hours of coverage. This allows you to add an engagement session plus more hours of coverage depending completely on your needs.
How do I reserve you to photograph my wedding?
You can make a booking enquiry by completing the relevant details using the online contact form (above) and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can. If I have a date available to suit you, I will require a booking fee of £150 to secure the date. The booking fee will be deducted from the overall cost. Once the booking fee has been received I will confirm your date in writing.
Do I have permission to print the photos? Can I use them on Facebook or Twitter?
With each of my weddings, I will give a limited release for personal use of the images. This allows y0u to print the images at a photo lab of your choice and use the images online. You may not however sell, edit, or advertise the images in any way. I ask that if you post your images online – please state clearly that these photos were taken by Jon Morgan Photography.
How long does it take to receive my photos?
On average, weddings take 4-6 weeks for full completion. During the busiest parts of the wedding season, editing can take upto 8 weeks. I do my best to blog a few of my personal favourites from the session within a week. This gives you a sneak peek to hold you over until the entire gallery is ready!
Should we consider adding a second photographer? What are the benefits?
I would highly recommend hiring a second photographer as in doing so this gives you another artistic eye to capture your special day. I can never be in two places at once, but when there is another photographer it gives me the ability to do just that.
What equipment do you use? Do you have a back-up camera & lenses?
I shoot with a Canon 5D mk2 as my primary camera & a 5D mk1 as my backup. My lens collection includes: 20mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.8, 15mm fisheye, 24-70mm f/2.8 & 70-200mm f/2.8. I also own 580 & 430EX flashes & backup batteries, for editing I use Apple products.
How much time should we set aside on our wedding day for the bride & groom pictures?
I recommend anywhere from 30-45 minutes of time to take pictures of you both. With an extra 15 minutes for formal portraits. If your wedding schedule is tight, which it generally is, you might want to consider booking a day after session to get all of the pictures together that you want. The more time I have with the two of you, the more creative we can be!
Engagement Sessions – what are they? Why should we schedule one?
E-Sessions are awesome. They give me a chance, as the photographer, to capture your love story in a more natural environment. Engagement sessions are the perfect way to get comfortable in front of the camera & to show off your smile. You get to see me in action, ask any questions that come to mind, & create some new memories. Some couples bring props or fun elements that reflect who they are. There are endless possibilities.
